NEW! Make it easier to find your cell in Excel

February 20, 2025 Azadi Sheridan

by clair tighe

The Productle office got pretty excited this week as we started using an Excel update which Microsoft released a few months ago. We’ve been finding this so useful that we wanted to spread the news.

💡💡💡The ‘Focus Cell’ feature! Focus Cell can help you navigate through large data sets with relative ease. This feature highlights (in a colour of your choice!) the corresponding rows and columns to your selected cell.

Gone are the days where we needed to hit ‘ctrl + shift + ↑’, ↓, ← or → to highlight our data! Now with two clicks, or ‘alt + W + E + F’ for those who prefer keyboards over a mouse, you can activate the Focus Cell feature.

🔥🔥 Hot Tip: A combination of Freeze Panes and Focus Cell drastically reduces time spent navigating hefty spreadsheets! Right click to add to your Quick Access Toolbar so this powerful duo is literally a click away.

💭 Future developments: Currently only works with the desktop app. Microsoft say: “Focus Cell on the Web will be available around March 2025”. Fingers crossed 🤞

At Productle, we understand how overwhelming a mountain of spreadsheets can be! We offer expert guidance to ensure that your data and organisation are in good hands. 💪
